In the spare minute I had today, I was thinking how much our lives have changed in the past year. One year ago this weekend, we moved from our Nevada St. apartment to Summers Ln. I was 3 weeks away from my due date, busy unpacking a new apartment and getting ready for a baby. Not to mention, I really didn't feel pregnant until tax season ended, which was about the same time. I think probably from the point we moved until I had Reese, I could probably tell you what I did every day. Seems like it was so long ago, but I can remember like it was yesterday. And it is hard to imagine what my life was like without Reese. What did I do with all my time??
In his short 11 months, he sure has grown into a little boy. I'm not sure after his 1st birthday how many more pictures we will get with the bear. We spent quite a bit of time trying to get him to take a nice one this month, but he just kept wanting to throw the bear or poke it in the eyes. He was sick, so I guess we can use that for an excuse. He had a fever of 101.1 last weekend, so I took him to the doctor, only for them to tell me to come back if he was still sick in 4 days. He was better in 2 days, but then of course David & I got it.
We went to the park today and Reese got his first ride on a swing. He thought it was pretty fun but it is close to the road, so he kept getting distracted by the traffic. We went for a nice long walk too, he sure does love to be outside. He even walked in his shoes!
We broke down and bought a lawn mower this weekend. David has been waiting and waiting for the new grass to grow, but the crabgrass and dandelions were getting too long. He also got the doors painted, so we now have doors on all of the rooms inside the house! The closet doors are next on the list, but I don't know when that will happen. Next weekend is David's birthday but he won't be home. He is fishing in a tournament with his dad, and I don't think Reese is ready for an all weekend camping trip yet. So I will get to be a single parent again for a couple days, but it will make shopping for David's birthday present easier. Any ideas what to get him? After that we have a spare weekend, then my parents & brother are coming to visit for Reese's birthday. It will be fun, even though I can't take much time off from work. I'm really looking forward to seeing them and being able to be around people!
As for me, I got to spend some time this weekend catching up Reese's scrapbooks. I am up to 9 months, so only a couple left to go. I'm hoping to have them done by his birthday. Nothing much else is new. My computer broke at work on Friday, so hopefully they find a spare one I can use this week. I spent most of my day Friday filing, which is not only boring, but makes the day drag on forever. Guess I should go.... I have to help David finish hanging the bathroom door, and maybe will have enough time left to polish my toes.
Wow! I can't believe Reese is almost one. Where did the last 12 months go? That's just crazy. He is so adorable. I love his shoes! Sounds like you are busy. Hope all is well.
